Foresta Umbra

Long tour in the Umbrian forest starting from vieste lungomare Mattei.

Low difficulty until the last downhill section in the path after the radar, then very scenic section with splemdida view of Vieste and the sea on stony path. The ride can be shortened once you get to the paved road that goes up to the forest .

The tour is mostly in the forest, cool in summer but not scenic.

Start at waterfront and climb inland asphalt, then disused section with steep semi-flagged section, then state highway to wolf pass.

Now small road first cemented then dirt road to Mount iacotenente radar, highest point.

Then follow trails into forest to get to baraccones center, forest midpoint.

Now very long descent to sfilzi caritate on dirt road.

At the asphalt, go up the broom dirt road following the Romanello pool sign, long stretch with very little slope then 2 switchbacks and turn left right at a bend.

Now the dirt road becomes more moved with ups and downs, last short steep section and you are at the asphalt.

Again ups and downs to the pass where you climb briefly to the left, at the radar spectacular rocky path downhill very nice.

Be careful because the 'water is found only in the fountain of the sfilzi reserve in the long descent, not easy to see if one does not know it.

When you are at the fence in the curve to the right with the sign integral reserve you stop, and made 5 meters you look in the little valley below and you see a concrete basin and there

you have to follow the path on foot 30 meters, climb over the fence and go down another 30.
