A spectacular route to say the least, both for the fun descent and for the breathtaking views, from the Adamello to the Bernina to the Pian della Regina; we are in Val Camonica and we are going to climb Piz Olda; having reached the top at a good 2500 meters you will be on the roof of the world, you will have a 360 indescribable view, you have to go there!
As always some technical data... distance: 24km - time on the move: 3.45 hours - total elevation gain: 1430m - maximum elevation: 2480m - cycleability: 90% - suitable for MTB AM/ENDURO.
Parked the car in Cevo, a small tourist village in the high mountains, we climb for about 9km and 800m of elevation gain alternating between forest roads, dirt roads in the middle of the pine forest and long meadows crossing several huts and barns.
The climb overall is quite linear with not too steep gradients and no technical or challenging sections.
Arriving at the last malga, the most challenging section begins; the climb to the lace begins!
You climb up through a military road; as you gain meters of altitude the road becomes narrower and narrower until it is a path.
The path is very scenic and without too many strains; you will be able to pedal it without too much difficulty until the last stretch where you will have to shoulder it to the ridge; it is about 120 meters of elevation gain for about 45 minutes of portage.
When you reach the cross you will have reached Piz Olda and between a sandwich and two peanuts you will be able to admire the splendid panorama around you.
The exertions are over, now the fun begins! The first part of the descent is very technical and in some places with steep slopes; while once you reach the hut the spectacular Brunacci Flow begins.
One of the best single tracks in the area, 100% riding your mountain bike!!!
The first section is a trail in the middle of the meadows, slightly technical, with a few boulders to climb over, as you descend in altitude the boulders disappear and in their place we find packed earth in the pine undergrowths, a crazy flow where you can let your bike run without thinking about anything else.
