MONTE STINO - BALD - VESTA DH
We are going to rediscover a must-do tour of the area with a couple of variations that will allow us, thanks to the great Macca, to reach the Calva without passing through Bocca Cocca.
We start from the shore of Lake Idro in that of Vantone area campgrounds and immediately climb in the middle of the woods on pedalable mule track to later come out on the asphalt road that climbs towards Capovalle. We reach Passo San Rocco then Zumiè where the final part of the ascent to Rifugio Monte Stino will begin. Now, after a stop at the refuge, we pay close attention to the trail. We move toward the viewpoint and just before we deviate to the right. Back in undergrowth with foliage there will be a freeride section where we will travel a connecting traverse as yet unmarked by the open. We will reconnect with the trail coming from the 136 switchbacks and continue on, with a couple of quick push pieces, we will arrive just below Bocca Cocca. Now all we have to do is start the CALVA descent that is never too difficult and never exposed until we reach the junction of Fienile Berardi: turning left we will go to take the Vesta DH that will be much more rock n' roll and more intriguing until we reach the Busetta di Vesta. From this point a nice final walkway lapping our Eridio and we return to the starting point. Have a good raid.
RECOMMENDED ROUTE FOR MOUNTAIN BIKE and/or E-BIKE ALL MOUNTAIN.
