Pale of San Martino Val Gares

Fabulous itinerary in the lunar landscape of the Pale (we ascend with the Rosetta cable car); beautiful and challenging trail down to Val Gares; to avoid part of Passo Valles we take a second cable car; scenically remarkable also the return from Val Venegia to Baita Segantini.

Cable car - Rifugio Rosetta - trail 756 to junction with trail 761 - trail 761 to next junction at elevation 1817 where on the left we go back to trail 756 300 m from Gares we take a small road keeping to the right of the stream and arrive in Canale d'Agordo.

Little road on the Biois stream that allows us to avoid the busy road and go beyond Falcade to Molino.

Cable car, 1890m. We descend to the asphalt road, which we take uphill towards Passo Valles.

When we reach the pass we take trail 751 to the left, which takes us with a bit of a push to the Venegia pass, where we take trail 749, which always descends in a south-southeast direction, the bottom not always easy.

Arriving at the bottom of the Venegia valley, we take the dirt road on the left that leads to Baita Segantini; then dirt road and a few cuts on trail take us to Passo Rolle.

We descend almost 200m of elevation gain on asphalt, then take a path that crosses or, leaving it on the right, runs close to the state road and brings us to San Martino to close the loop.
